Accredited investors
Under SEC rules, you generally qualify as an accredited investor if you meet at least one of these tests:
- Income over $200,000 (or $300,000 with a spouse or partner) in each of the last two years, expected to continue
- Net worth over $1 million, alone or with a spouse or partner, not counting your primary home
- You hold a Series 7, 65 or 82 license in good standing
- An entity with more than $5 million in assets, or one owned entirely by accredited investors

How we confirm accredited status
Rule 506(c) requires us to take reasonable steps to verify every investor. Depending on your situation, that may include:
A professional letter
A written confirmation from your CPA, attorney, registered investment adviser or broker-dealer.
Financial documents
Review of documents such as tax returns or account statements, often through a secure verification service.
Minimum-investment method
Where a fund's terms allow, large minimum investments with written representations, as permitted by SEC staff guidance.
